ANBI Information

Registered ANBI

Stichting Be Human Community

Foundation Be Human Community is registered with the Dutch tax authorities (Belastingdienst) as a Public Benefit Organisation (Algemeen Nut Beogende Instelling, or ANBI).

Thanks to the ANBI deduction, your gift can cost you half the amount that actually reaches our projects!

What does an ANBI status mean?

An ANBI is an institution that dedicates at least 90% of its income to the public interest. Only 10% may be spent on overhead costs. In our case, we spend even less than 10% on overhead, because we work on a voluntary basis, from home, with hardly any expenses.

The benefits for you as a supporter

If you support us, you can benefit from tax advantages through your income tax. This allows you to make a greater impact for the same amount of money!

One-off donation

Making a single donation? You can deduct a portion of your donation on your tax return (the tax office has established a threshold and a maximum). So effectively, the Dutch tax authorities chip in a little bit.

Periodic donation

If you commit to donating a fixed amount to us every year for at least 5 years, the thresholds disappear completely.

  • You can then deduct up to 100% of your donation from your income.
  • You can also choose to donate your tax benefit directly back to us, increasing your support without costing you anything extra.
  • Want to set up a periodic donation agreement with us? Download the form, or let us know if you need help β€” we can also send you the form by post.

Need help? Contact us β€” we can also send you the form by post.

Giving as a company

Companies can also contribute to our projects with tax advantages. Donations from a private limited company (BV) are deductible from corporate income tax (up to 50% of the profit, with a maximum of €100,000 per year).

Living in Belgium?

Do you live in Belgium and file your taxes in the Netherlands? Then you can use the ANBI tax advantages. Do you file taxes in Belgium? Unfortunately, a gift to our foundation is not automatically tax-deductible through the Belgian tax authorities, unless specific conditions apply.

The benefits for us as a humanitarian organisation

The ANBI status is also invaluable for our foundation itself.

Exempt from gift or inheritance tax

We do not have to pay any form of tax on donations or legacies. This means 100% of your contribution goes directly to humanitarian aid.

Trust and transparency

To maintain the ANBI status, we must meet strict requirements set by the Dutch tax authorities. For instance, we publicly publish our policy plan, financials, and remuneration policy on our website. You can be sure your money is in good hands.

Mission & vision

Public Benefit Organisation

Be Human Community is an international community that connects people to provide humanitarian aid together to people in crisis areas. Through direct involvement, transparency, and solidarity, we turn donations into concrete help and strengthen the power of humanity worldwide.

We believe people are not powerless in the face of suffering in the world. Through connection, awareness, and joint action, we make it possible to turn compassion into concrete help for people in crisis areas. We create space for involvement and action, so that people β€” individually and together β€” can contribute to humanitarian aid and positive change, across borders, cultures, and differences.

What sets us apart

  • From powerlessness to action β€” Where many people feel overwhelmed by what is happening in the world, we create a way to not remain passive but to actually do something.
  • Community instead of organisation β€” We are not a traditional top-down aid organisation, but a living community of people who take responsibility together.
  • Humanity as the starting point β€” Not systems, politics, or structures are central β€” but people and the connection between people.
  • Connection across borders β€” We bring people together, regardless of background, religion, culture, or location, from a shared sense of humanity.
  • Direct and tangible impact β€” Donations and involvement are translated into concrete humanitarian aid, such as our current efforts for Gaza.
