The "Healing with Colors" Project: A Space of Hope and Recovery for Gaza’s Children

Out of our firm belief at Be Human Foundation that education and joy are an inherent and guaranteed right of every child, and in fulfillment of our humanitarian responsibility toward our people in the Gaza Strip, the Foundation implemented its relief and psychosocial support project "We Heal with Colors," in an active strategic partnership with the Rawafed Youth Forum. The project targeted children and families in displacement camps in the Gaza Strip, where there is a pressing need for a glimmer of hope that redraws the features of childhood and eases the weight of the harsh, exceptional circumstances they are living through.

The project included integrated work tracks addressing the educational, psychological, and national dimensions, delivered through the following outputs:

Supporting the educational journey: Complete school bags, equipped with all stationery and essential supplies, were distributed to beneficiary students. This step aims to enable children to resume their education and to encourage them to hold on to their right to learn and to build their future despite the harshness of reality and the lack of resources.

Psychological and recreational intervention (art therapy): The project culminated in a comprehensive, interactive recreational day designed specifically to provide psychological and social support. The activities included free spaces for drawing and artistic expression, along with a range of physical games and recreational activities. Through them, we aimed to create a "safe space" that allows children to release their energy, express their innermost feelings, and overcome trauma, using colors as their effective tool for recovery and healing.

Planting roots of resilience and loyalty: In a deeply symbolic gesture, the project included an olive tree planting activity around the displacement camps. This initiative was a message of loyalty and appreciation, and an expression of solidarity with all supporters and free people around the world who stood with the Palestinian cause and with the rights of its children. The olive tree reflects our historical rootedness in the land and the message of survival and steadfastness carried by every Palestinian.

Through the completion of "We Heal with Colors," Be Human Foundation affirms that it is moving forward in developing and implementing its humanitarian and relief programs, believing that investing in children is the cornerstone of building the future, and that healing wounds begins with a sincere initiative, a paintbrush of color, and a tree planted to tell a story of endless hope.
